When it comes to road trips, some people take a map and chart their course carefully...others prefer to see what's around the next bend in the road and where it might take them. And either way works for a week or two's adventure! Life is a lot like a road trip, though and where you're going matters a lot more. Make Discover Church a pitstop on your road trip this Sunday and fuel up with some great answers for the journey ahead.

"Passengers, this is your captain speaking. We are approaching a zone of turbulence ahead. Please fasten your seatbelts." Don't you wish someone would warn you when tough times are coming? Join us for "Fasten Your Seatbelt" and listen up as we learn some trips for surviving, avoiding, and even preventing turbulence. Buckle up! It will be a wild ride!

Our DNA determines who we are--our physical attributes, our personalities, our quirks, and our strengths. It defines us. Likewise, the DNA of a church defines who and what that church is, and what it means to be a part. So let's take a look at the Discover Church DNA. What do we stand for? Everyone is afraid of something...or too scared to admit it! Our fears can be conquered, coped with, or they can consume us...and it usually has nothing to do with the object we fear, but our attitude instead. Fortunately, we have Someone ready to help us to live life to the fullest, knowing He is on our side.

Everybody loves a good party...especially if you're invited! When it comes to church, sometimes Christians can unintentionally act we are the only ones invited to the party, but when you read the Christmas story, you understand that everyone is invited...and Christians are the ones supposed to be handing out the invitations! Join us Sundays at DC for the party of a lifetime. Everyone's invited!

Shhh...don't tell anyone, but there's an elephant in the room! Well, sometimes questions about your faith feel like an elephant in the room, anyway. Why bad things happen to good people, why God doesn't always answer our prayers, why a loving God would send people to hell...they're big questions, and most Christians would rather ignore them than figure out an answer. Join us as we discuss these issues and more.

There's another world out there...one we can't see with the naked eye. Join us as we take a look at the beings that inhabit the spiritual realm, and find out what impact they have on our physical world.

I do...two little words that can change your life forever. With them, we commit to having & holding...for better or worse, richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part. It's pretty amazing when you stop to think of it...there are so many names for God in the Bible! He's our Creator; our Savior and our Judge; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; Healer, Protector, Provider, Great I AM, and the list goes on! Join us as we take a look at some of the names of God and what they mean for us.

Which one is it? God-less America...or God bless America? Was our nation founded on Christian principles...and if so, what are we doing with those principles today? Join us as we take a look at our nation's heritage and what we can do to shape the future direction of our country.

Someone once said, "There are two great moments in someone's life: the moment they were born and the moment they truly understand why they were born. Why are we here? Why do we do what we do? What is the "because" behind the actions? Join as we discover the deepest purpose for our life. The answer may surprise you.

When it comes to our wallets, bank accounts, and retirement plans, we'd all like to be rolling in the dough. Unfortunately, for most, the Benjamins are just a little more scarce these days, and your bank account may not be worth a plugged nickel. You can bet your bottom dollar that managing well what you already have is as good as gold. Listen in as we let God put in his two cents about how to get the most bang for your buck.

It is amazing that when life squeezes us the hardest, when finances are tough, when hours are being cut back, when family is driving you crazy...who we are at those moments often simply expose our True Colors. If that is true, when Jesus was on the cross, who He truly is...was exposed. Picture this: on the cross, experiencing unbelievable physical pain, and a load of stress we could never imagine. (You know...the whole sin of the world thing) Yet at this moment of intense pressure He said things like "Father forgive them" "Today you will be with me in paradise." He didn't think of Himself, He thought of others first. Join us as we examine the True Colors of Jesus and how we can be more like Him.

Control...what is it about that little word that makes us so anxious? We all know that there's very little in life that we really can control, so why do we try so hard, especially as believers? People, circumstances, the future...all better left in God's hands, but how do we do that? Join us as we learn how letting go will leave you with a better grip on life.

Everyone matters, everyone has value&that is foundation of the vision of Discover Church and its missions program. On January 11th, Discover Church will be sending 4 of its teammates to plant a church in Nicaragua. Our missions program is called One by One. Join us as we see the value of everyone and the importance of sharing the love of Christ with the world around us.

In the midst of Christmas gifts, parties, decorations, and traditions, it feels like there's a piece missing from the whole holiday puzzle...peace. "Peace on earth, goodwill to men" is a far cry from the traffic, lines, and expectations that come with the season. How ironic that the very person at the center of all the holiday craziness is the very one who promised us peace! Listen in as we discover how to reclaim that missing peace.

Ingrained in all of us is the desire to be a part of something. Whether it's part of a family, a cause, or a team, we all want to belong and we all want to be wired. Why? Because God designed us to be wired, connected to things bigger than ourselves. The question then is...Are you wired? The second question is...What are you wired to? Will it make a difference in light of eternity? Join us as we discover the importance of being connected to a cause bigger than all of us.

Jesus performed amazing miracles. The winds and the water became still at His word. A blind man from birth was able to see. A crippled man picked up his cot and began to walk. We read about these amazing phenomenons and wonder why don't we see these today? Why do we sometimes lack the faith to believe this same Jesus can calm the storms in our lives? Join us as we study these incredible phenomenons and what they mean to us today.

Work--some people love it, some can't stand it, some do it for survival, some do it too much...and for some it is a 4-letter word that they want to avoid as much as possible! No matter where we stand when it comes to working 9 to 5, what matters most is God's perspective about our work. Join us for the next 5 weeks as we explore God's purpose for working.

There is a common misconception that the church is a gathering place for saintly, perfect people. However, when Jesus entered the scene, He spent time with people who were far from perfect, who were far from saintly. He liked people who were nothing like Him. Jesus taught us to see people and to see the world from a different perspective. Join us for "See World" and we'll change our perspective to See the World the way God does.

Sex. Oops! Did we just write THAT word on the CHURCH website?? Surely God would disapprove! Such things should be kept undercover, right? Well, the truth be told--no, God wouldn't disapprove, and sex isn't a dirty word. God wants you to have great sex, and we're getting ready to talk about it! You wouldn't think such a thing were possible, yet there you are, somewhere you never intended to be. The same thing can happen with our finances. The statistics concerning money in America prove that we need a new plan and some new directions to follow. Good thing the Bible has plenty to say on the subject! The Game of Life - The game of life is an interesting one. Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose, sometimes it is fun, and sometimes its tough to wait for your turn! (Sometimes we even need a 'Get out of jail free' card!) We would like to personally invite you to join us for our new series "The Game of Life." Join us as we discover how to play it, how to enjoy it, and how to get the most out of this game called Life.

What on earth is going on in the heavens? There is a world that we cannot see, yet what happens in the spiritual realm has an incredible impact on our everyday lives. Are angels and demons real? Lies, deception, intrigue...it's a tough world we live in, and navigating it can be rather tricky. Well, even though our world may seem more like Jack's than Jesus', in "24" we take a closer look at how Jesus responded to life's difficult decisions, so we can learn to do the same.
